Omnicatalysts are a suite of chemical compounds which can vastly accelerate a wide range of chemical interactions. They are rare, but of tremendous use to biochemists and physicians. Medicaments doped with omnicatalyst typically become much more effective, as the desired biochemical reactions are stimulated in its presence. Omnicatalysts can also be used in a more sinister fashion, as toxins and venoms doped with omnicatalyst become considerably more lethal as they overwhelm an organism's natural defence mechanisms.

Omnicatalysts are a type of Exotic Reagent - an Exotic Substance related to Corporeal Science. A physrep of a sample of some kind of powder can be used to represent measures of this substance, smaller samples can represent one or two measures, while larger physrep samples can hold more. Please don't use powders that are dangerous or messy - coloured fine sugar is probably the best.

A measure of Omnicatalyst can be applied to any single measure of a Medicament Ampoule. Applying a measure of this substance will empower the medicament's effects, increasing its benefit (or penalty). As a minimum, the Omnicatalyst doubles all numerical values on the Medicament, except any that refer to durations or time. Some Conditions will specifically note what will happen when they are treated with an Omnicatalyst-doped substance, which may be entirely different. The values that Omnicatalyst doubles are highlighted in yellow on the Ampoule's lammie. Some usage Modes may not have yellow-highlighted values, in which case the Omnicatalyst will have no additional effect. Doubling of non-numerical values (MINOR > MAJOR > EXTREME > TOTAL) instead steps one step up.

Examples of operation:

• Med-Serum (GREEN) - After 10s restores 2 lost Body Hits instead of 1.
• Med-Serum (AMBER) - After 1min Rest, restores all lost Body Hits on 2 Locations instead of one.
• Synthetic Platelets (TREAT) - Pauses your Death Count at the moment of application for 5min. (No additional effect)
• Synthetic Platelets (RESIST) - Your Death Count increases by +400s for 1hr instead of +200s.
• Radiation Nanosponges (TREAT) - After 1hr of Rest, treats two RADIATION Conditions (instead of one).
• Radiation Nanosponges (RESIST) - Grants EXTREME RADIATION Protection for 1hr instead of MAJOR.

As with all Exotic Substances, a character with at least 1 rank in the relevant speciality (Corporeal Science in this case) can spend 1 minute of appropriate roleplaying to apply 1 measure of Omnicatalyst to a Medicament Ampoule. After this roleplaying, they should unpeel the sticker that represents this substance, and stick it to the ampoule in the rectangle containing the Medicament's name and symbol (near the top of the lammie). The Omnicatalyst then applies to all doses remaining in the Ampoule - adding any more doses will remove the Omnicatalyst sticker even if there are doses remaining.
