All Chapter 1 scenarios occur in the “present” of the OSVerse, so you can play your existing character if you want. If you haven’t already, please read the OSLRP Digital Notes to get an idea of what to expect.
There are 5 available scenarios in Chapter 1, one for each Faction and one for the MegaCorps. There are 4 available time slots, one on each weekend day from the 10th to 18th of July. The way booking will work is as follows:
We’ll be posting updates on our Facebook Page, and in the Orion Sphere LRP: General group.
In Chapter 1 there are 5 available scenarios, one for each Faction and one for the Galactic Energy Supplies MegaCorp.
A mission from the FU Exobiology Corps to locate and protect a Space Whale spawning ground in the America Nebula during a critical period in the Space Whale life-cycle. The area thought to contain the spawning ground is frequented by outlaw hunting parties, who may turn hostile if their hunt is interrupted. The nebula in the region is especially dense, so specialised Science techniques may be required to locate the spawning grounds.
This scenario will contain probable space combat, various puzzles, as well as navigation through tightly packed nebulae. There may be some sudden sound effects. This scenario will require at least 1 player to have access to Google Docs. This scenario can accommodate up to 3 Drones, for a player count of 5-9.
A mission to investigate reports of potentially insurrectionist elements in a system in the Polaris Sector. The area is known to contain assets belonging to the Noble Houses Ansari, Archer and Emsk, so caution and diplomacy may be required if these assets are threatened.
This scenario will contain diplomacy, probable space combat and political intrigue. There may be some sudden sound effects.
A mission to investigate the progress of a burgeoning spacefaring civilisation in the Augustus Sector. A Commonality Monitoring station in the outskirts of the system has reported strange energy fluctuations in one of the system’s planets, and requested urgent assistance to investigate the phenomenon. Remaining hidden from the native civilisation will be critical to the mission’s success.
This scenario will contain stealthiness, probable space combat and Science! There may be some sudden sound effects. This scenario will require at least 1 player to have access to Google Docs. This scenario can accommodate up to 3 Drones, for a player count of 5-9.
A mission to locate and assassinate or capture a known heretic, last reported in one of three nearby systems in the Tulaki Spur Sector. The reported systems contain large colonies or orbital facilities and there is considerable space traffic, so identifying and locating the heretic’s vessel may prove difficult.
This scenario will contain probable space combat, as well as diplomacy and detective work activities. Having a priest of the Path of Tulak may also be a bonus, but is not required. This scenario will require at least 1 player to have access to Google Docs.
A mission for Galactic Energy Supplies to investigate energy fluctuations in stellar harvesting equipment located in the Libran Strand Sector. The rig monitoring routines have flagged an anomalous energy wave originating from deeper in the Libran Rift, and several components have reported sensor anomalies since. The system is so far out the only practical way to get there in reasonable time is using a hired Jump Ship, but its probably nothing….
This scenario will contain probable space combat, Science! as well as information gathering and collation. This scenario will require at least 1 player to have access to Google Docs. This scenario can accommodate up to 2 Drones, for a player count of 5-8.
I will also be running 1-hour practice sessions, for players new to the starship software to get familiar with the system and get some practice working together. These are OOC practice sessions, primarily in space combat, and will be very straightforward and plot-light, and with a scaling challenge level depending on how well the crew is doing.
Each day of the Chapter will have a practice session available starting 90 minutes before the main session. You can sign up for a practice session using the Expression of Interest Form.
